Our Founder

Troy Clair built Autograph Residential from the belief that residential ownership deserves the same level of strategic oversight that Washington leaders expect in business. After years of investing in and managing homes throughout the region, Troy saw how often important property decisions became fragmented without clear oversight.

His 20-year career in Washington shaped the standards behind the firm. He served as Chief of Staff in the U.S. Congress and as a presidential appointee in the U.S. Treasury, working closely with the decision-makers who define Washington. He later held leadership roles at Amazon and Instacart, where judgment, discretion, and operational discipline were required.

Troy founded Autograph Residential for leaders who require the same quality of judgment at home that they expect at work. Clear decisions, smart execution, and a home cared for with the seriousness it deserves.

Do you manage tenants or handle leasing?

No. We do not manage tenants, coordinate leasing, handle rent collection, or provide property management services.

Can I hire you for a single project without a monthly membership?

Yes. Age in Place, New Home Setup, Arrival Preparation, and vendor sourcing and coordination are all available as standalone engagements. The monthly membership is for recurring oversight of the home.

What areas do you serve?

Home management and on-site services cover the Washington DC metro area, including Northern Virginia and the Maryland suburbs within the Capital Beltway region.

What services are available outside of the DC area?

Vendor sourcing guidance, and arrival preparation can be structured for properties outside the DC area. Reach out us to discuss your specific needs.

What do you Do?

We provide relocation advisory and residence support services. This includes neighborhood guidance, residence research, curated shortlists, vendor sourcing, arrival preparation, and ongoing property oversight services depending on engagement scope.

Are you a real estate brokerage?

No. We are not a real estate brokerage and do not act as leasing agents or represent clients in real estate transactions. We operate as an independent relocation advisory firm focused on research, review, and decision support. When licensed real estate services are required, clients work directly with licensed professionals, and we can coordinate introductions as part of the process.
